![]() This was my setup and beginning stage of my friend Michael. I took the photo of him when he came to have a meeting the day before. I hadn't seen him wearing glasses before and I thought they looked good on him and will add them in after I capture the correct shapes and planes of his face. There was a show being hung in the gallery today so lots of distractions and I was able to work steadily despite all of that curatorial energy swirling about. I'm still working out how I want to start an underpainting. Here I was trying to scumble in the varies large shapes while trying to make slight adjustments to the plane changes. I was also trying to follow the correct light and shade shapes by keeping the values within these very similar only using slight temperature and hue adjustments. This being the scumbling stage I probably didn't need to do any of this as most of it will get all covered up with subsequent layers.
Next week I should be able to get fully set up, I'll be also bringing in my larger monitor to work from. Once I get further along with my abilities I will spend more time I hope with my models. My photographing of people coming in has been pretty sketchy as to what to do and where to place them. I have now 4 individuals with many pics taken and I hope that I can get this all figured out before long. Didn't think I needed to learn about how to take portrait photos also but this too is an area I could learn more about. My list of things to learn is growing daily.
